Some interesting issues arise when mental health professionals interact with consumers on bulletin boards. On my the Delphi Forum associated with my About.com site there has been a discussion between a psychologist and a 14 year old that has taken on many of the characteristics of therapy. I have expressed my discomfort with the psychologist, but the issues seem fuzzy. Is this just an interaction between two people? Does a psychologist have any professional responsibility to protect an adolescent in this situation? Is she enabling him to continue to be mute in therapy? How do her interactions with him affect his therapy? I'd appreciate any input in this difficult situation. http://about.delphi.com/ab-mentalhealth/?msg=386.15 Leonard Holmes
