Interested in networking

I have been fortunate enough to have entered into the world of od on reputation alone thus far. I have enjoyed this work enormously and wish to develop my career more along these lines. I am interested in any resources you may have to assist me. I live in the San Francisco bay area. For example, a colleague of mine started her own consulting with the help of a woman who would arrange some consulting leads, and take a percentage of any job that emerged from this lead.
