Starting a consulting business is no easy task. There are some essential steps which can help though--two are -- developing a capability statement and starting market research. The capability statement is basically a description of what you have to offer to clients. Market research is a way of finding out what clients need. A side benefit of doing the research is that as a researcher you are staring a relationship with potential clients and making them aware that you exist.
