Behavioral Indicator Info. Requested

I am a consultant designing a workshop on the development of competency models. My focus is primarily on safety related behaviors in the workplace. I am looking for information on behavioral indicators - definition of, identification of, any activities related to the identification of behavioral indicators that would be appropriate in a training classroom.
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.
