Ira says "She felt that I needed her and she did not refuse to help. What more can you ask from a DOCTOR?" Answer: (1) An objective therapist, not muddied by bias in a case he/she is entrenched in. (2) A courageous therapist, who dos not bow to pressure from a prospective client. (3) An ethical therapist, who recuses him/herself from a case that is inappropriate for him/her to take on. Your comments show a lack of understanding of treatment goals and procedures. You may choose to discuss these points with your therapist or educate yourself in other ways.
