NO, I'm not "biased against people who have a disease" but I AM biased against people who ignore the rights of others, who don't take responsibility for their lives and choose to wreak havoc on others, and especially when it creates one disturbance after another IN MY BACK YARD. Hi Monica, Glad you posted again. You did not say that this man has been in your back yard before. Does he come into your back yard often and threaten you regularly? If so you should definitely be calling the cops often and filing trespassing police reports. And an abuse report if he harms you in any way. The problems with this individual go way past substance abuse. This is someone with a fairly lengthy criminal record, who manipulates people to serve his purposes and loses his cool the minute someone gets in the way of him having his way. He's not stupid because he's "sick," he's "sick" because he's been stupid all his life. As far as you are concerned, that does not matter and is legally irrelevant. Again the only thing that matters as far as your personal situation and safety is concerned, as it relates to this man, is did he harm you physically? Or trespass? If he did file police reports. And in this situation what you need to do is get the police involved. What his mental health situation is or what he has done to others as far as manipulation is concerned, you have no grounds to file reports against him for what he has done to others. Only to what he has done to you personally. It does not matter what his personal situation is or what you feel about his situation. The only thing that matters, did he threaten you or assault you or tresspass against you. If he did then yes file police reports and get him arrested. Then you have cause to take him to court. If he did not, then if you haul him into court without substantiation then he would have grounds to file a defamation suit against you, despite what his personal situation is. This would apply to anyone, therapist or not. Again, if you plan on hauling him into court be armed with police reports. I’m all in favor of staying out of people's personal lives, as long as theirs stays out of mine. And if they don’t stay out of your life then definitely call the cops.
