    I think you agreed, more or less, that Murray’s “human accomplishment” reveals the need for ”greatness” that requires a “belief in truth, beauty, and good.”

    Does “human accomplishment” imply progress? Yep.

    Or maybe it’s your view that “human accomplishment” is nothing more than “simply an ever more refined fit to a particular niche of human preferences and environmental options.” And maybe a Honda is nothing more than a travois with wheels; and “War and Peace” is nothing more than a simple adventure story. And maybe the greatness that requires a belief in truth, beauty, and good is simply bullshit.
