I usually don't answer when I have no experience in a subject...but I would like to add an observation that might be germane. The subject in hypnosis really does the therapeutic work. In some sense, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. So, the 'control' aspect of clinical hypnosis is not there and in the case that restrain is necessary for self-harming clients, hypnosis is a pointless mode of communication. Perhaps that helps explain.
