Hi Erik, Wow, you ask good questions. I found your question regarding finding the best supervision to be similar to my own experience/search several years ago. I had taken hypnosis "certification" training that fueled my interest in Erickson's work. I chose to attend a weeklong symposium given by the Milton H. Erickson Foundation in New York. At this symposium I was given the opportunity and experience of attending presentations by Jeffrey Zeig, Steve Lankton, Michael Yapko, Betty Alice Erickson and others. My agenda was to find somebody who was a good match with my own experience, background and learning style to take further training with. Since that time I have taken additional 1/2-day training sessions with most of the presenters and two longer training sessions (5 day and 3 day) with Stephen and Carol Lankton in Florida. All have been good. The time with the Lankton's great. You give little information about yourself. Where do you live? What is your academic discipline? What has your experience been so far? The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (founded by Dr. Erickson) (www.asch.net) has "study" groups around the US. To belong you need to have at least a master's degree (or higher) in one of several disciplines (medicine, psychology, social work, dentistry, nursing, etc.) ASCH also offers workshops and a certification program. I have attended the West Virginia University Study Group's annual training in the fall for the last 2 years and it has been wonderful. I have served as the Vice President of the Washington (DC) Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH affiliated study group), which has also been a great experience. A great source of information is the Milton H. Erickson Foundation (www.erickson-foundation.org/) They have a list of affiliated "Institutes" around the world, as well as individuals who may be able to provide "supervision." (I have recently moved to Sicily, Italy and have contacted the Italian "Institutes" listed on Foundation website.) Best wishes, Joe O'Rourke
