In "Milton H. Erickson" by Jeffrey Zeig & W. Michael Munion published by SAGE (1999), they write: "In An Uncommon Casebook, O'Hanlon and Hexum (1990) not only catalogue and summarize 316 case studies, they list the outcome and follow-up interval data which is available for most cases." They further write "Anyone practising the Ericksonian approach can readily compare their inteded result with the actual outcome. This is known as reasearch with N=1, and is a recommended practice that is available to any clinician utilizing any approach." These two passages were written as part of a larger chapter on criticisms and rebuttals regarding MHE. I recommend reading the book and there is an excellent bibliography and list of references which you may find useful for your continued research.
