    Re: Schizophrenia and Ericksonian therapy

I understand that there is literature that indicates that cognitive therapy can change biochemistry. I know of no similiar research on major psychotic disorders. There is a case in Erickson where he used hypnosis somewhat successfully in aborting manic attacks. See O'Hanlon's Uncommon Casebook for a summary of cases. Also you could check with the hypnosis data base. http://www.hypnosis-research.org/hypnosis/index.html

    Good luck

    Jeff
