    Hypnosis is not a panacea
    Eric P. Simon · 6/25/98 at 7:06 PM ET

Terry, Hypnosis can be helpful for many things. However, it is my opinion that if the patient is significantly demented, hypnosis will not likely be helpful at all, because hypnosis requires focusing abilities that severely demented patients no longer have. I would be very curious to learn of any research, though, about hypnosis with dementia patients. Eric
