    Importance of theory?
Larry Meisel · 6/2/98 at 9:19 PM ET

What about the other part of the question? What is the role/importance of theory in the use of hypnosis and the expansion of Erickson's legacy? To what extent must hypnotic methods be applied within the context of a theory (psychoanalytic or other)? To what extent can the methods stand (be applied) on their own?
