I researched Hoffer a while back and his claims regarding the mega dosage of various vitamins. The only official findings I came across said that the studies werent able to be replicated by any other groups. It seems the only positive stories are anecdotal. I have to add that this is only in relation to the mental health claims that were made by or about him. Personally I am now quite suspicious plus Id warn people to be very careful if you decide to follow the advice of taking high dose supplements. Some seem perfectly safe while others like B3 can cause an extreme rash, heat, itching and lowering of blood pressure- most of these are reported as harmless but it has caused people to panic (even those expecting symptoms), can last much longer than stated and with the blood pressure change possible - that on its own prompts care to be taken. I have had these symptoms on tests using as little as 50mg so be warned! I hope this is useful information. Rich
