    It seems also that the tangents you describe in stories also help to make the story more relevant for the client. For example, with one story I tell, one of the tangents involves having the client recall the experience of how big and insurmountable their elementary school seemed as a child. I then compare how small it seems when they visit it from an adult's perspective. For those that have had that experience, I think it makes the primary story more "associable" and relevant.
