Thank you for your reply. Certain things you said match well with what I experienced in that altered state and I think it also helped me a lot to gain some understanding of that experience. When I started reading hypnosis I asked almost every person known to me about their idea about hypnosis - which now I think was a dangerous practice. From my experience I guess, hypnosis is not a matter to be discussed about, it is rather something that is to be applied. Even learning and teaching hypnosis is an application. I also guess that hypnosis is not a superficial therapeutic tool - like for example cognitive-therapy. It is something related to every phenomenon of life. Yet unfortunately for most of the people its application is restricted to what I like to call social-parasitism. And in this situation Dr. Erickson's work is the most reliable source of truth about hypnosis for me. I have so many questions which I don't know whether will be answered ever. I rapidly passed through various confusing experiences - reasons and significance are out of my conscious awareness. I still read Dr. Erickson's books in the hope that learning hypnosis will be an answer to my life. Thank you again for the encouragement you gave me. Chayan Das
