    Erickson was disenchanted with Dianetics. In the history of therapy, one can see that huge work of Otto Fenichel mentions Dianetics (as well as mentioning William Reich). However, it is discredited there. Fenichel was a fantastic interpreter of Freud and, of course, psychoanalytic work. The date of this PSYCHOANALYTIC THEORY OF NEUROSIS was 1945. Basically, all dates later than that share the same view of Dianetics. I am pretty sure I have that right, but you might was to look in the index of that book and read it for yourself. (PS: Reich was soon to suffer the same fate).
