First I would like to say that I am not a Fendenkrais method practitioner, although I have studied some about this great method and his creator. About Ericksonian Hypnosis I have attended a couple of training with Jeff Zeig and read many many books. But truly what I am devoted to, is NLP. I am an NLP Trainer who works closely with Richard Bandler so I might have a different perpective on things. Having said that, this is what I can say about your question: Moshe Feldenkrais and Milton Erickson were both great and feroucious observers of the human behavior. Both developed methods that allow us to change human beings. They both based a lot of it on noticing minimal cues and affecting unconscious processes. While most Feldenkrais practitioners claim that their work has nothing to do with verbal inductions... they simple keep talking! Saying things like: In a moment you will realize how much further you can turn and how much easier it will be... I don't know about you but to me, this could be Milton speaking! Some friends who trained with Moshe back in the 70's and that have extensive training with Richard Bandler, say that the Feldenkrais method is one way to generate a trance (using the body) and to change unconscious processes with a different language. The language of the body. As far as I have studied Milton's and Moshe's work there are a lot of similarities as well as many differences. If you learn both methods you have two mayor skills for helping others. BTW, on one of Moshe's videos he mentions Milton Erickson and as far as I know (not having been there) they knew each other and exchanged ideas on various ocasions. But then again, I was not there and I am not a Fendekrais method practitioner so all I write is not neccesarily right... or left... hemisphere to understand. Have a great read, as you allow your mind to turn free.
