Imprints+pre verbal (possibly birth) trauma and hypnosis
Joe the worried · 03/08/02 at 3:34 PM ET

can Ericksonian methods successfully reframe or resolve issues that may have occurred at an age when the person was unable to speak .
For example , say the individual had a traumatic birth
Could "Ericksonian" Hypnosis reach these deeply stored traumas or get the person to abreact in the same way that
Orgone (Reichian)therapy claims it can ?
I know abreaction in itself does not produce "the cure" but I wonder how even this powerful set of tools , could unlock repressed trauma that might otherwise hamper other efforts to change the individual`s behaviour.
I believe Imprints are very difficult to change , Dr Robert Dilts has devised a theory which he says is effective but have any of the Ericksonian therapists here had any success with just verbalisations and other Ericksonian interventions , in modifying beliefs and identity issues of such a "deep" nature
