Simply suggesting away the problem symptoms does not work. Therapy is the result of correct assessment (since lazy is not a real thing, but rather a convenient (for whom?) label, what is a framework that make 'sense', etc., and then contracting for change, then offering interventions that are designed to retrieve/re-associate needed experiences and better accomplish need fulfillment. Lecturing yourself or telling clients to do so is unlikely to do the trick. You are suggesting something that could have minimal positive results with a compliant person (who will actually become more compliant by succeeding that this approach).
