This is not, in my opinion how it should go. It is hard say what is called for in a session. How about asking him to listen to what you have to say instead of monopolizing the time. On the other hand if you would not speak...perhaps it is understandable behavior on his part to attempt to 'normalize' similar concerns by illustrating his similar growth experience. If on the early hand, you wish to and try to speak...I can't understand his conduct at all. In any event try telling this person that you are under the impression that Dr. Erickson listened. As for the EMDR...you should ask this on that forum. I am absolutely not qualified to speak on that subject. But it sound like you know what you are talking about and more...your experience was very unpleasant!
