    Examples of Failure?
Ben Bock · 9/29/97 at 4:24 PM ET

Dr. Zeig- I am a 2nd year clinical grad student who has the opportunity to write a term paper on Erickson. I have been intrigued with both his strategic approach of utilizing both strengths and weaknesses w/in the patient to effect change, and with his acute perception. However, I read of very little failure by the man. I know he can be considered one of the "masters", but he wasn't infallible and I think that examples of problems or failure can be enlightening. I am in the process of plowing through the literature now, so if I have missed something obvious please accept my apologies. Also, I have been practicing my observation of people and behavior, using Erickson as my "gold standard". Is there a literature source you would recommend as helpful in reaching this goal (or personal suggestions)? Respectfully, Benjamin Bock
