Thank you everyone for your input. My thoughts were along the lines of Dr. Lankton's, that of taking the client as a whole and letting them tell what is important to them. In other words, each treat each client as a unique individual and discover all aspects of "them." I think, and I may be way off, that the feminists would claim that this line of thinking fails to take into consideration society's influence of putting a women in a one-down position. Thus by not addressing, we are supporting the oppression in therapy. My concern with that is, our clients are not coming to see us (or paying us) necessarily to change society. Any thoughts, or feminists out there? Trent
