They never met and in fact, discussing this with him. He STRONGLY speculated that there was no Don Juan and Don Genero. He knew many Yachi(spelling may be incorrect) Indians and medicine men and said their beliefs and practices did not seem to him to allow them to behave as Castanda had described them. But, anyway, no the two never met.
