I am "new" to Eriksonian or for that matter hypnosis in general. While I have been a practicing psychologist/psychoanalytic/interpersonal psychotherapist for twenty years and have engaged in research at The Center I am sincerely, David Rudick, Ph.D.
for Psychotherapy Research at the University O fPnnsylvania school of Medicine I have only recently become very interested in the idea of "attending" and the sense that what we attend to is a very interesting and complicated process. Subsequently, I am feeling excited about exploring this idea. Not only do we engage in a form of self hypnosis everyday, as therapists we "attend" to certain things that happen in the sessions and leave other things out. I am as of late becoming very curious about all of this "attending" business and trying to make some sense of it.
