Firstly, thanks for this site - it helps to know you're not alone in both needing and having been treated by EMDR.
I had a childhood filled with abandonment and neglect but survived in a Pollyanna-type state I think. Have also had my share of adult traumas but carried on.I needed EMDR because I didn't deal with any of it at all.
My question is about dreams. I have reverted to the topics (childhood home and town) which dominated my dreams well into my thirties (I moved away from there at 19). After EMDR I was fascinated that I would dream about everyday things like my friends described from their dreams and my childhood scenarios were gone. Does EMDR deal with the things you would normally deal with in dreams? Why would I go back to the dreams I thought I'd got rid of?
