Everyone is entitled to their opinions ~ I can only speak from my own experience. I have completed 4 successful treatments of EMDR. I was suffering from PTSD from my rapes and I did experience mild anxiety from that. My main problem was that the rapes came back to haunt me when my own daughter turned the same age I was at the time of the rapes. I couldn't get the violent images out of my head and it troubled me. When I told my psychologist about it, she said that she could help me with EMDR. I did the research and was willing to try anything at that point. There were several repressed memories that came up during the EMDR. They were kind of painful, but they became milder and faded after more EMDR. We worked through it all and I'm so happy about that. After the 4th session, I feel great. The memory is there, but it is so faded that I can barely see it. It doesn't haunt me all day anymore and I'm at peace ~ without the anxiety. So you can keep trying to dispute that it works all you want, but for me ~ I know it works and your opinion sounds more like the fear of the unknown to me. That's understandable because I was skeptical myself at first ~ who wouldn't be? If you try something and it doesn't work, don't do it anymore ~ it sure doesn't hurt you. Mandi
