Can EMDR help a person shift out of a victim mentality, the poor me mode? I'm thinking of someone who has been through a lot of stress, various levels of traumas, and who has always managed not to let those things take over until more recently (the past year). Now this person has seemingly given up, is struggling to work things through but has become stuck and is just beaten down from a lot of things over a long period of time. I'm wondering if the EMDR can be applied to the "poor me" thoughts/ways of thinking etc. to help shift them.
