Completely anecdotal, and second hand, of course, but my new emdr therapist mentioned working with a paranoid schizophrenic whose "delusions" featured her former abuser. He (my therapist) reported very good resolution of ptsd symptoms and prominent aspects of the paranoia with the use of EMDR. I did not get the impression of a "cure", but of a decrease in symptoms and increase in functioning and quality of life. (One takes what one can get with debilitating mental illness, of course -- that's been my experience -- on both a personal and objective level.) He did talk about it being necessary to do the appropriate prep work and very much titrate the experience of EMDR for her (the client) to avoid flooding and acting out behaviors.
