Hi, The spiritual core self sounded easier (to me) to connect to and install than the pretraumatized or preconception self. I found a white light breath meditation online and used that to install the resource. The meditation captured the gut sense of "innocent and pure" without actually using the words, which just served to instigate internal conflict, in my case. But "everyone", internally, was interested in connecting to a "white light". It took me at least an hr a night for at least a week, to install the SCS. Half the difficulty was getting my kids away from me! Seriously, I had a lot of trouble relaxing, feeling good, etc. I actually focused on a real light, to help ground myself. If you sense or see an angel during em's, I would suspect either that it's a part of self, or a resource (also a part of self, of course, but not a traumatized or dissociated one). Probably there are ways of differentiating the two... I know that for me I knew I had a "resource" on board when I felt entirely safe. As that was a completely new experience for me, I "knew" when it happened. If it had been an alter intruding, I don't think the sense of safety would have been there. Anyway, I'd encourage you to keep trying the installation, with or without the em's... I'd liked the tapes as bls, because I find it irritating to focus on an image AND monitor my own em's. I can do it, but I just don't want to have to. (Btw, after a year, I can usually connect to the SCS and other resources even without bls. They enhance the connection, but they are not necessary, for me.) As for spontaneous em's, I think they can happen for many reasons, lots of stuff gets processed on a physiological level. To me spontaneous em's seem like a facial tic or a hand shaking... they indicate something, they are not structured, though, and what they indicate is not clear. If you'd like to continue this discussion privately, I can be contacted at missusscarecrow@yahoo.com "If only "we" had a brain" -- me :-)
