Thanks for the feedback. The idea of looking for another therapist is too hard, too many trust issues. The one I have is Level II trained tho I have some doubts about how she practices emdr - is totally different from how I was trained (am also level II and have ongoing emdr supervision for my work w/ clients). She also doesn't have lots of experience with DID, but has done great with me - she has really good instincts, I think and a good common sense approach to it. I may try emdr again, with her, and tell her how I want her to do it - more adhering to the protocols. Maybe I'll do more research on using emdr with dissociative clients and pass the info on to her. I know you aren't supposed to do this, but I have done emdr on myself, using bilateral auditory stimulation, sometimes with good results tho other times I just feel violently sick from dizziness and nausea I think definitely slowly and cautiously would be a better approach.
