Is it people seeking their "15 minutes"? I know of one website publisher who, over a period of years, revealed personal events and emotions in vivid detail. Over time, her writing expanded in scope to include also revealing personal details about her family members. Her website is now gone. I suspect the family had enough. I'm old enough to remember when telephone "party lines" existed. Those were more enjoyable.
Do bloggers compete to see who can publish the most intimate and salacious details in an effort to attract an audience? (Personlly, I believe so)
