While Cassandra's away, I'll give you my answers to the points she's raised. 1. The question about adolescent females being mistaken for sleazy male fakes is about pauciy of language. The male faker typically uses repetitive & unimaginative speech, i.e., the speech of an adolescent with poor language skills. 2. 3.
language:
'here is my limited 2 cents for what it's worth' That's the language of someone who's unaccustomed to being taken seriously, i.e., someone female.
The point Cassandra made about the lack of realism in the portrayal of women in gaming is very true. In fact, she understates it. It's liking stepping back in time to when men asked each other if women had souls. It's creepy & suggests that the human race can only move forward without men.
My best friend is a poof (gay male). He went into a lesbian-only chat room a while ago, wearing a female name. He's a girl-virgin and curious about girl cultures. He rang me up and shouted at me that men were scum and wanted why the hell I was bisexual when I could be a lesbian and cut men out of my life altogether.
With the anonymity of cyberspace to hide their crimes, the men who behave badly in RL (f2f) behave literally in a crinimal manner online. Of the 250-300 people I've met/ read the words online, the only male ones who didn't behave as though their penis was my god were gay & male or female.
Lucky for me, I'm as assertive online as offline about my right to be treated as a human being :)
