From what you described, it definitely sounds as if your son would benefit from seeing a therapist (at least for a good eval). I'd like you to think for a few minutes, though, about whether your son might not also be dealing with something else -- perhaps a depressive disorder. I do not intend to diagnose, but it is certainly something that should be examined.

I say this merely to encourage you to have whoever assesses your son look into the totality of his problems.
