    Yes indeed. Interesting questions. No doubt an online persona can become a vehicle for a person's projecting or acting out of psychological problems.

    It's also possible - through the mechanism of dissociation - for the persona to develop disorders that may not be immediately apparent in the person's "real" identity. In fact, some researchers speculate that the dynamics of online persona may in some respects simulate the dynamics of a multiple personality (dissociative) disorder.
