    Cyberhooliganism, Part II
    Angie · 01/22/01 at 1:49 PM ET

    Hi,

Well, I have started investigating and exploring Cyberhooliganism. As I am diving into it, few main issues have arisen -

    * It seems that there is no definite _denomination_ for cyberhooligans. Some call them cyberpunks, some call them cyberhooligans, I believe Prof. John Suler himself called them 'The Bad Boys of Cyberspace'. Isn't there a leading denomination for the phenomenon?

    * What is the most popular _definition_ for a cyberhooligan ?

    * What differs the online character from the offline fellow ? There is this thing about who are those cyberhooligans. What is the relevance between the cyberhooligan and the offline hooligan ? Is it that people in the offline world repress impulses and let themselves express those impulses in the cyberspace, which is characterized by disinhibition ? or is it that people, that are aggressive by nature, are the typical cyberhooligans ?

What do you think ? I will be glad to hear any ideas, opinions or even references you have.

    Thanks,
    Angie
