    My 2 cents

Subject starts out as "Religion and the net" and morphs into "net sex (is boring)." .... hahahaaa Right. Sure. And the survey says .... Bored sex is NEVER a good thing! Can I get an AMEN to that?! Yiieeaaasssss!!

Actually, often those awkward moments can be turned around and experienced as moments of empathy and validation of ourselves and our partner(s). A time of re-afirmation of the checks and balances we share in balancing some of the ever changing understandings and agreements forged in dynamic relationships. Good sex is like unto a deep well of shared intimate personal satisfaction climaxes nourished by an abundance of unconditional energies focused and responding inter-dependantly and without uniform bias to our mind(s), body(ies), and spirit(s).

    Smoke break.

Alternatively, bored sex is like unto running around naked with a large pail of water with a small rusted hole in the bottom slowly watering the parched sands of the noon day desert and every now and then rubbing up against a cactus looking for a new way to foster a friendship(s).

Bored? Is that a good thing? It is a selfish thing. A shameful thing. A scary thing. A lonely thing. A troublesome thing.

Is it an internet thing? Yes, certainly sex is online. Online sex is not boring. Having sex with a computer monitor scanning at 85 Mhz 1078 x 800 res 16 million colors full screen mode (and a decent set of speakers of course) is hardly boring. Well then again, at 56k it might be kinda boring perhaps, but never at broadband DSL 300k. When that video playback kicks in you realize all the computer nerds were right after all. Your $2000 machine is not just a humped up toaster with a view screen only to email your efriends and to do refined web site searches looking for the next site you can bookmark. Yes sir! You fire that baby up and you realize that the world your parents raised you in is not bookmarked anywhere, and you care less and less about searching for it. It's a brave new world and your part of it cuzz your connected. It's no longer about who you are, or who you know, it's all about where you go!! And it can only get bigger and better since Microsoft lost half its real stock value and is about to become fatherless. Sex and money power alot of the internet, just like in the ftf world. So what?

Net sex is not boring. It is selfish, shameful, scary and lonely AND jealous. And because of those feelings and experiences (anything) can manifest boredom. It is not the sex that is boring, but the person bored with playing with themselves.

The internet is a good thing. Sex is a good thing. Putting them together just makes a lot of money. And a few laughs. And a few cries with lotsa tears.

Of course all kidding aside, let's talk about virtual reality. Now there's a technology that will put internet sex down for the count and reduce it comepletely into the same realm as VHS, sex magazines, and late night tv.
