I've just discovered this CMC related thread! How lucky for me! I have resource for you re: Gender / Identity online, it's a great article that I've used in the past for a course that I facilitate on-line on Gender and Ethnicity Issues in Education. http://www.itcs.com/elawley/gender.html In addition to that resource, Susan Herring does a lot of research on gender and communications online. Her work exposes gender cues and stylistic traits in online communication. Her work can be found at: http://ling.uta.edu/~susan/ My course on Gender and Ethnicity Issues in Education can be accessed at: http://seamonkey.ed.asu.edu/~mcisaac/emc598ge/ Try the "Resources" area, it contains a pretty big list of related urls and articles that may have some of the information of which you seek. best
