Reading and studying for oneself, so that one has some idea what a forum is about, enable one to know what questions to ask. That way, one can better recognize when an answer can or cannot be given or already has been given, and one can then actually understand the meaning of answers that are given. All learning is autodidactic. Experts or teachers only ever stimulate interest, offer encouragement, or support another's self-instruction. Similarly, therapists, too, serve as guides and facilitators; the pateint does the really hard emotional work. All learning is autodidactic.
