I read with interest your ideas about multiple personality.
My opinions on its existence and over-diagnosis change. But I have been diagnosed with it or rather, its less in-your-face cousin DID/NOS.
What I can contribute to the discussion is this: the memory of having to not 'be here' in certain situations in my childhood and of having that come true.
I attempted to save the whole thing from being broken and I beleive I did manage to save the essence. Though hiding it is as good as not having it.
Dissociation, by itself, is a gift of inestimable worth.
But its never clean. So much shifting stuff in between.
