I am currently doing my final project regarding how to reinforce the transitness of the our lives. For example, how do we design to shorten the time while waiting for a train coming. I am interested in the anxiety behind waiting and travelling. what is the psychology behind waiting?? what goes on in our brains while waiting?? Why do we always waiting something to happen when we are bored or ill, but not when we are happy or active??

What is the psychology or travelling?? why do we always want to get from one place to another in the quickest manner?? Why do we always design machines, either physical(cars, trains, planes) or digital(internet, phone, tv) that require the shortest possible connection time??

I have been searching for the thinking behind the waiting and travelling for some time now and I have found nothing on topics. I was wondering if any body out there have done research or are interested in this subject.
