    Negative ions

Also remember the interesting claims about negative ion concentrations influencing behavior. The research behind this was done by Robert Baron and colleages:
    --------------------------------------------------
High concentrations of negative ions believed to facilitate aggressive behavior in people who are already angered:

Baron, R.A., Russell, G.W., & Arms, R.L. (1985). "Negative ions and behavior: Impact on mood, memory, and aggression among Type A and Type B persons." Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 48,746-754.
    ---------------------------------------------------
High concentrations of negative ions are also believed to increase the perceived attractiveness of interaction partners:

Baron, R.A., (1987). "Effects of negative ions on interpersonal attraction: Evidence for intensification." Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 52, 547-553.
    --------------------------------------------------

    kind regards,

    Todd

Baron theorizes that the effect is mediated through autonomic arousal , and the ion concentration heightens arousal.
