Ideomotor signaling and how its used
    Deb · 12/27/01 at 10:50 ET

I encountered a "therapy" session in which the thereapist assumed that the client was hypnotized and began to tap around with his pen, scratch various parts of his body in tune to the client was saying, etc. He said he was trying to get the client to use ideomotor signaling. Can anyone ellucidate to me the purpose and how it should be done in a session? I asked him what training he had to use this and he said he had seen it in a book. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable about the session and felt embarrassed for the client.
