Homosexual behaviour in Institutional settings

Hello all. I've been "trolling" your BB on occasion to see if there is a respected reference work on homosexual behaviour/masturbation in institutional settings. I live and work in a personal care home for approximately 90 mentally challenged men and women (MH,MR) age 21-80. We are an "intentional" community, in that over half of our staff live in the same building as the residents.
While I'm sure this behaviour is not unusual in any setting, I would like to study more about within the context of either instituions or groups in order to bring a balanced and, I'm hopeful, comforting perspective to those who struggle with this issue. Any suggestions would be welcome.
