Hi, Here's my question. I'm of the opinion that being bipolar has helped me to understand things I wouldn't have otherwise. It has given me the energy to start my own business and branch out into carreers that I wouldn't have even thoght of. I also think it's made me more creative by giving me different 'views'. I'm currently writing a speech that I intend to give to our local 'Toastmasters' club of which I'm a member. I plan on talking about the prejudice associated with M-D. As you might imagine :) I'm having trouble putting together a long enough list. Can anyone out there give me a hand? I can find lots of stuff saying how bad this disease is. Can anyone give me some silver linings? For more about me, and my first speech to the group, feel free to visit my web site www.fernsler.com/euanandkaren/euan/ Thanks in advance for your input! Santih,
I've been diagnosed with Bipolar since my Freshman year in college (3 days of intensive care and 30 in the loony-bin). Since those days in late '86 early '87 I've struggled with medications and psycho-babble. I've been free of medication and professional psychology for nearly 5 years now and more or less stable.
As part of the speech I'm listing the good things that M-D can bring to the sufferer. Why you might want to hire an M-D sort of thing.
Euan
