I am a BSN nurse who just completed a Master's in Counseling and presently living and practicing in Asia. One one of the many opportunities I have had is to work with the local nurses in basic skills in a psychiatric setting. My other American colleague and I are teaching Nursinig Process and attempting to adapt nursing diagnosis to their practice. A challenge, because we must come from their limited educational preparation. We have been seeking assistance from our world wide counterparts on what is the actual practice of identifying a patient problem? It is obvious that academia and practice are not in sync. Are we identifying problems from a nursing framwork that is comaptable with other disciiplines? lWe would appreciate input to this inquiry. The outcomes manifested by nurses in their desire to improve their professional and practive and ultimately improved patient care has been most gratifying. We have learned much from them, probably more than we have ever been able to give to them.
Thank you,
