    Totally Agree
    by Fitzy, 12/13/98

I totally agree that there are too many extreme theories about children and the choices they make.

It's WRONG to ask a child to express a preference, because that child will always feel guilt over who they chose against. It contributes to the adversarial process of divorce, and custody issues, and directly harms the kids.

When parents are in a custody battle that is pushed to the point of court trial, BOTH are bound to the opinion of the judges, no matter WHAT evidence they bring forth in their favor. Children should be bound to the same rules, as no matter WHO wins, there's ALWAYS a loser. It's just the way it is today, and until parents can be forced to pay for their vindictive behaviors, and motivations in custody issues, it will sadly remain exactly the way it is right now.
