Grandiose? You mean there is no alternative? Someone who makes the statement I just made must be 'grandiose'? Hmm. The psychological community does not have fences. They are where you find them. You do not belong to the psychological community, though you plug into it. I belong to many APA listservs, university listservs, and I issue announcements to tens of thousands of psychology majors at universities nationwide. This is what I regard as the community. I do admit to making bold statements providing I believe them. I do so, without qualifying or hedging, because I want to elicit reactions like those you are feeding me here. When I get what you are giving me from professionals and academics, I post them to my web site because they are incriminating. Far more people look at the responses and question the qualities of psychologists than question my own 'grandiosity.'
