Richelle, Any individual who is abusive increases in his violence. It will only get worse. You can make a plan - a safety plan. Write it down and keep it in your Bible, or with the cleaning supplies, or in the kids' room, or wherever. Keep going over it in your mind and heart. You can be safe. You will choose to be safe. You will be safe because you have a plan that you created and that you can act on. God loves you! It is not your job to heal your husband. That can only come through his desire for his own healing, the help of professional counselors, and God's help. Reply when you can. You will be in my prayers.
I am a minister and feel heartbroken that your clergy have not been able to be of help. God does not want you to be in a relationship where you are being hurt in any way. God knows that you are a precious person, and promises to give you the inner strength - the spiritual strength - to make positive decisions for yourself and your children.
Rev. Ann
