You hear more and more that our General Practitioners are taking it upon themselves to "diagnose" and write "scripts" for medications largely used for for those having a mental illness, or cranking them out to children of "most too busy to discipline" (not necessarily physically) parents that feel "ritalin, concerta, and adderal" is the answer to their woes. I don't mean this for all, but there are many, too many to be ignored.
GP's do more harm than good often when prescribing such medications because they are not trained in the field of Psychiatry, let's face it, they are NOT psychiatrists and can't help their patient in the same, precise manner.
Just needed to vent.
